This learning program is aimed at individuals entering the Medical Cannabis pharmaceutical field. Individuals credited with this standard will have a basic understanding of Medical Cannabis pharmaceutical terms and concepts as well as an understanding of the importance of documentation and regulations within the pharmaceutical environment. The individual will, in addition, begin to develop an understanding of critical aspects within the Medical Cannabis pharmaceutical context, in an organisation at which an employee has other employees reporting to him/her.
The qualifying learner is able to:

This learning programme is intended for managers of small businesses and junior managers of business units in larger organisations in the Cannabis Sector. The term business unit in this unit standard implies a small business, cost centre, section or department.

The qualifying learner is capable of

Understanding of the main aspects of the Labour Relations Act (LRA) as amended, that relate to the management of a business unit.
Explaining the requirements of the LRA in respect of interviews.

A learner achieving this learning programme will be able to apply soil nutrient preparations in a safe, effective, and responsible manner to the benefit of Cannabis plant/crop growth.
Learners will gain specific knowledge and skills in soil fertilisation plant/crop nutrition and will be able to operate in a Cannabis plant/crop production environment implementing sustainable and economically viable production principles.
They will be capacitated to gain access to the mainstream agricultural sector, in Cannabis plant/crop production, impacting directly on the sustainability of the sub-sector. The improvement in production technology will also have a direct impact on the improvement of agricultural productivity of the Cannabis Sector.
The qualifying learner is able to:
Apply appropriate nutrient substances to soils or Cannabis crops under close supervision.
Understand how to make compost and when to use it.
Identify basic symptoms of nutritional deficiencies in different Cannabis crops.
Demonstrate a basic understanding of soil properties.
Apply soil preparation tasks that require hand-held tools and low-technology ploughing implements.
